| The start of 2007 was a pivotal time for Marty Paris, when he completed a 30-year career with one company, and joined in as a full partner of Paris Productions with his wife Beverly who had solely operated the company since 1994.
Marty began working for George E. Warren Corporation in Boston, Massachusetts in 1978 as the Assistant Controller and after a short time Controller for the highly regarded Petroleum Trading Company. In 1989, when George Warren moved to Vero Beach, Marty added the roles of Tax Manager and Personnel Manager on to his long list of responsibilities.
What Marty’s resume never read, was his love for all forms of entertainment as well as his creativity in promotions and advertising. While (sometimes) living vicariously through his wife and her business, Marty was able to assist her in a myriad of business activities that included the editing of copy for radio, newspaper and press releases, assisting in the execution of special events, and as an active committee member of Downtown Friday and the Hibiscus Festival.
Marty joined the Downtown Friday committee in 1996 in charge of selecting bands and working with the others on themed activities for the popular street party which was held monthly at that time. Now a four times a year special event, Marty is involved more than ever with handling the entertainment, food vendors, logistics as well as all the finances associated with the event. When the Hibiscus Festival rejuvenated in 2004, Marty was, and is still responsible for planning, logistics and finances of the yearly event. Marty is also the Assistant Treasurer on the Board of Directors for Main Street Vero Beach, the presenting sponsor of both these community events.
As an avid movie and theatre fan, Marty was the free-lance Theatre Critique for planetvero.com, and has acted in several plays at the Vero Beach Theatre Guild where he won several awards for his craft.
Joining Paris Productions was Marty’s way of “re-inventing himself,” following his 30-year career in a structured office setting. He has replaced his responsibilities of spreadsheets and taxes, and audits and human resources, with writing television copy, developing newsletters, buying media and constructing advertising budgets. Marty’s upbeat personality coupled with his knowledge about just about everything and anything “trivial” makes for a good addition to a business that is fast-paced and varied. |
